This toy phone is the best thing ever for kids who love to pretend they are grown-ups because it looks just like a real phone but is made just for us! It is very easy to use because the screen is bright and the buttons are big and cute, so when you tap the little icons, they work right away without being confusing. The pictures look like a happy cartoon world, and it is so much fun to pretend to take photos of the table or my shoes, or even “call” my friends while I sit on the couch. I really like that it comes with a soft string to put around your neck so it doesn’t fall down when you are running, and even if it bumps into the wall or gets a little squished by your hands, it stays strong because the durability is very good for a toy. It doesn’t make any loud or scary noises that hurt your ears, and the battery is great because you can play with it for a long time before it needs to be charged again. For the value for the price, it is a great deal because it keeps kids away from real phones and the internet while letting them have their own special games. The functionality is perfect because it has a camera, music, and a parent lock that makes it safe to play with anywhere. I bought this for my nephew thinking it supported WiFi video calls — just to clarify for other buyers, it does not. That was my misunderstanding when purchasing.
That said, it’s actually a fantastic first phone. He’s 2 years old and absolutely loves it. He enjoys navigating the games and just having a phone of his own. It’s very intuitive for little hands and simple for toddlers to explore.
Setup was quick and easy, and the parental controls are solid and straightforward, which I really appreciate. For a basic starter device, it does exactly what it’s meant to do.
While I’m still searching for something slightly more advanced (similar to the VTech KidiBuzz G2 but upgraded), this is a pretty solid choice if you’re looking for a simple first phone experience for a toddler.
